Seminole County, FL - March 12, 2021 - Seminole County Fire Department is holding a Push In Ceremony for new Quint 34 at Seminole County Fire Station 34 on Monday, March 15th. The multi-functioning truck is the first of its kind for Seminole County. The quint has 5 primary functions, hence the name, that serves as a cross between a fire engine and ladder truck. The 5 functions include a pump, water tank, large diameter fire hose, an aerial device and ground ladders.
"Quint 34 will increase the aerial capabilities needed for the growing Northwest area of Seminole County," said Chief Otto Drozd III, Seminole County Fire Chief.
Historically in the fire service, when new units are placed into service the new unit is sprayed "wet-down" by a fire hose and the unit is pushed into the station bay to commemorate that the unit is ready to serve the community.
The media and community are invited to attend this long standing tradition of a Push In ceremony.
