Seminole County Hurricane Irma 9/10 Update

Seminole County, Fla. – Seminole County Office of Emergency Management remains activated at level one status. Residents are encouraged to visit www.PrepareSeminole.org or call the citizens information line at 407-665-0000 for updated information regarding Hurricane Irma.
Two shelters are near capacity, Lyman High School, a general population/pet friendly shelter, and Bentley Elementary, a special needs/pet friendly shelter. Those individuals seeking shelter that have special needs and a pet should to go to Bentley Elementary. Residents that do not have special needs, but have a pet, should go to Lyman High School.
All other residents seeking shelter that do not have special needs or do not have a pet should go to one of the following shelters:
CRYSTAL LAKE ELEMENTARY
LAKE MARY HIGH
LAWTON CHILES MIDDLE SCHOOL
WINTER SPRINGS HIGH
In order to ensure the safety of residents and visitors during the height of Hurricane Irma, a curfew will be in effect beginning Sunday, September 10 at 7:00pm until Monday, September 11 at 6:00pm. During the curfew, persons are prohibited from being on public streets, highways, parks or other public places. Restrictions will be enforced by all law enforcement agencies throughout the county.
All county and city sandbag operations have closed.
