SEMINOLE COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT AWARDED FOR HOME FIRE CAMPAIGN

PRESS RELEASE:

SMEINOLE COUNTY, FL (July 21, 2017)- Seminole County Fire Department recently received a Certificate of Appreciation from the American Red Cross of Central Florida for its ongoing support of the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign, a national initiative designed to reduce death and injuries from home fires. Sherri Monroe, Executive Director of the American Red Cross of Greater Orlando, honored Seminole County Fire Department with the award, expressing a profound appreciation for the remarkable collaboration the Seminole County Fire Department has with the Red Cross.

Since 2015, the Home Fire Campaign collaborative effort between Seminole County Fire Department and the American Red Cross has resulted in 1,895 free smoke alarms installed in Seminole County residences. On July 29, the Seminole County Fire Department staff and volunteers will install smoke alarms inside households in the Harmony Homes subdivision in East Altamonte. Two other neighborhoods will receive the benefit of these services before the end of the year, Hacienda Village and Mobile Manor.
