College, whether at home or away, is a big step into the future. University of Florida/IFAS Extension Seminole County is offering two programs to help students prepare both nutritionally and financially.

On Tuesday, June 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Cooking for the College Bound discusses basic food preparation skills and equipment, reviewing meal plan options, shopping on a budget and quick, healthy recipes for dorm and apartment living.

Another important skill, Money Management for the College Bound will be presented on Tuesday, July 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Decisions on money during college can have a long-term effect on future finances. The program will discuss: getting organized, family discussions, creating a spending plan, understanding credit and avoiding identity theft.

Both classes will be held at the UF/IFAS Extension Seminole County Auditorium, 250 W. County Home Road, Sanford, 32773. The cost per program is $5.00 and re-registration is required at or by calling (407) 665-5560. The programs are presented by Julie England, Family and Sciences Agent.
