SEMINOLE COUNTY NATURAL LANDS HIKE AND EVENTS SCHEDULE
Seminole County Natural Lands Program
Come join the Natural Lands staff as they lead you on a hike to the “wild side” of Seminole County. Observe and learn about native plants and animals. Hikes last between 1.5 and 3 hours and may cover 2–4 miles. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring items such as insect repellant, water, snacks, hat, binoculars (day) and flashlight (night).
There is no charge for this event; however, space is limited so please call early to reserve your spot. Call (407) 665 7352 or visit the Natural Lands website at www.seminolecountyfl.gov/natland. Hikes are scheduled twice every month.

June 13, 7:30 p.m. at the Geneva Wilderness Area. Night Hike.
June 28, 8:00 a.m. at the Geneva Wilderness Area. “Plant ID” Day Hike – learn how to identify native plants.
September 12, 7:30 p.m. at the Chuluota Wilderness Area. Night Hike.
September 27, 8:00 a.m. at the Lake Proctor Wilderness Area. Day Hike.
October 10, 7:30 p.m. at the Lake Jesup Wilderness Area. Night Hike.
October 25, 8:00 a.m. at the Econ River Wilderness Area. Day Hike.
November 14, 7:30 p.m. at the Lake Proctor Wilderness Area. Night Hike.
November 22, 8:00 a.m. at the Geneva Wilderness Area. “Backpacking” Day Hike - learn some backpacking tips.
Special Events at the Ed Yarborough Nature Center, Geneva Wilderness Area:
June 28, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Bones, Fossils and Artifacts Day – Open House. Get a closer look at some of the bones and fossils that can be found in Florida. Visit with local archaeologists and learn about local history. There will be exhibits and door prizes.
July 12, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Backyards for Birds and Butterflies Class. Learn to use native plants in your landscape to attract birds and butterflies. This class is free to the public. Please call 407 665 7352 to reserve a seat.
November 22, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Native Plant Appreciation Day – Open House. Join us to learn about some of the interesting plants that are indigenous to Central Florida. There will be exhibits, interpretive hikes and door prizes.
