Wet Tap/Line Stop Inspection for Seminole County Utilities

Wet tap inspection requires a 72 hour advanced notice Monday through Thursday and between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. No wet taps or line stops will be done on Fridays.

Contractor’s Responsibilities


1. Install dewatering, sheeting, bracing or shoring (if required)

2. Verify tapping sleeve is per Seminole County detail and Approved Materials list

3. Tapping sleeve to be located a minimum of 4’ from any pipe joints, fittings or valves

4. Add #57 stone per Seminole County details

5. Install pressure gauge & perform pressure test (150 psi for 15 minutes)

6. Tapping valve and machine are to be supported properly & not cause undue stress on the main

7. Deliver pipe coupon to Inspector

8. Backfilling & compaction of excavated area

9. Restoration as required

It is recommended to have the 2” taps installed for the jumper assembly if the wet tap is installed on a Potable Water Main line.
